So I heard Valentine's Day is this weekend... I bet all the fancy restaurants will be overbooked for dinner and will most likely have some sort of cheesy V-Day menu (heart-shaped steaks anyone? Yes, it's a real thing... ). I don't know about you but I'm totally not into that stuff and would much prefer enjoy a meal with my husband that is not covered with red petals.
Do you feel the same? Are you tired of overcrowded dinners? Tired of the color red & floating cardboard cupids? Then why not have a decandent brunch with your bae at Soubois or Êat? Both offer extravagant menus, delicious cocktails, beautiful people (in case you don't actually have a valentine) and such inspiring decor.
Nestled in the heart of Montreal's shopping area, Soubois is a hidden enchanted forest that serves magical food and drinks. Sounds romantic, right? Well it is. The minute you step into the restaurant you forget that you're smack downtown; the minimalist trees and cozy dimmed lights create a modern fairytale setting. Gorgeous decor aside, the brunch menu doesn't disappoint: ricotta & blueberries pancakes, cream cheese wrapped in gold, lox & bagels, wild mushroom benedictine, eggs & steak, lobster sabayon and so much more!

Êat (Être avec toi // "Be With You")
If you and bae like art, then Êat is where you should go for an unconventional V-Day experience. Located inside the trendy W Hotel, Êat is surrounded by street art and graffitis from artists such as Stikky Peaches and Jason Wasserman (I mean, it's all over the walls and on tables!). As for the brunch menu, well, where should I start... Let's just say the word decadent just doesn't cut it. Where else will you find duck confit, foie gras, seafood poutine, oysters, sweet & salty bacon dim sum, lobster benedict and a cakepop bar? This is definitely not for the faint of hearts. Need a little more romance? What's more romantic than a couple's massage at Away Spa or stay-in for the rest of the day and enjoy one of the hotel's newly redesigned rooms.
